Street Art Tour: Melbourne Street Art Culture

This photo was taken when I went to Melbourne's alleyways for the tour of street art for my school excursion. For me, it was absolutely breathtaking to see this artwork being displayed on the wall as if I walked into an big, art gallery only this time it is out on the open for locals and tourists to see and visit and take photos. No wonder I am not surprised that Melbourne is the street art capital of the world and it is amazing how much color that there is on the wall. These talented street artists turned this blank canvas into a huge masterpiece and for them to make all that hard work and effort and putting their heart and soul into these types of artwork and for that I owe them a debt of gratitude. What I saw that day, was very vivid and vibrant and the artists took risks by clashing the two brightest colors which were (in this image) pink and bright yellow and it actually made a dramatic effect on the work which I thought it worked well in the end.  A lot of street art when I have been shown during the tour was very contrasting and it capture the main focal point which was to see what the image was about and I felt the theme was dominating the street art scene during the tour. It might be different now but I still feel it will be the same once I go back into the alleyway and see what's changed. I hope this post might recommend you to visit to alleyways in Melbourne and take in the street art culture which we proudly have in this wonderful city of ours. <3 S xo
